Mission Statement
The mission of
the Harford County Technical Rescue Team (TRT) is to assist
and coordinate life-saving efforts in the search,
extrication, and the safeguarding of trapped victims during
natural, man-made accidents and or disasters. Members of the
Team will strive to follow the most current rescue
methodology and practices in providing the safest, most
expedient, and cost-effective technical rescue operations
available. The Harford County Technical Rescue Team
personnel will generously offer support, assistance and
cooperation to all surrounding agencies in accomplishing our
mission with the most professional and courteous manner
possible.
Purpose and Scope
The
purpose of The Technical Rescue Team is to provide a nucleus
of highly trained special rescue personnel to assist the
Harford County Fire / EMS Companies with technical
knowledge, support and or manpower too safely and
effectively deal with the following types of situations:
1.
Any situation in which a patient is trapped, buried
or experiencing a medical emergency in a trench or
excavation.
2.
Any situation where a victim is trapped, buried or
experiencing a medical emergency in a confined space as
defined by OSHA / MOSH.
3.
Any situation involving victims trapped in the
collapse of a structure.
4.
Any Technical rope rescue situation in which 51% of
the load is maintained by the rope system and or any incline
over 40 decrees.
5.
Any water related situation that requires technical
rescue skills to safely reach, maintain the safety of or
extricate the victim from the water.
6.
Any other situation that requires technical rescue
skills to safely reach, maintain the safety of or extricate
a victim. |
